What others are saying...

  • “I am deeply grateful for the mentorship I have received from Michael Perie throughout my journey in Funeral Service. Michael has been by my side every step of the way, providing unwavering support and guidance. As my preceptor, he established a strong, solid foundation for caring for the deceased and teaching me to truly master my craft and to continuously refine it. He consistently pushes me out of comfort zones and encourages me to master my skills as a licensed funeral professional and educator. I am the professional I am today in large part because of Michael Perie's mentorship"

    Ebone D.

  • ““Michael Perie is a true jewel who has help to steer my still blossoming career in the right direction from the time I began my apprenticeship under his leadership. His passion for the funeral industry and imparting wisdom is unmatched. He always went the extra mile to make sure his teaching practices were top notch and up to date. I feel blessed to have been taught by such a caring professional."

    Dana T.

  • “Mr. Perie cared deeply about ensuring that our classes needs were met. He made sure we understood the subject matter before moving on the next topic. He did a great job explaining the technical side of things as well as tying in real world examples to keep us engaged in the lessons and further understanding of course materials.”

    Colin T.

  • “Michael Perie was my instructor at Northwest Mississippi Community College Funeral Program. Under his unique academic instructions along with other faculty support, I successfully passed the National Board of Funeral Exams. Also Mr. Perie opened the door for me to complete a year long apprenticeship where I received hands-on experience to plan funerals for families in a compassionate and caring manner. He also served as a guide, manager and preceptor through my process to become a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in the state of Tennessee."

    Mischa M.

  • "I am happy that I had Mr. Perie as one of my instructors. He is supportive and knowledgeable about funeral services and embalming. I couldn't ask for a better instructor."

    Holle F.

  • "Mr. Michael Perie, socially known as "Mike P" is truly a master instructor, embalmer and funeral director that loves his area of expertise. I met him at the beginning of my professional career while full of thirst and energy for knowledge. But even with a large case load as trade embalmer at the time, Mr. Perie still took time out to be my preceptor. Its very impressive to watch him work in the area of restorative art. He would shine at the Hollywood Wax Museum! He is extremely patient in how he teaches and answers questions. And even as all these years, he still answers and returns my calls. He is a complete professional who exemplifies the best the funeral industry has to offer. I highly recommend his courses and craft if you want to take your skills to the next level."

    Miles K.

  • "Mr. Perie was genuine and approachable as my teacher. He never made me feel inadequate although I was the only student who had never worked in the funeral industry. He encouraged all the students to work hard to become effective and efficient funeral service providers. I am indebted to him for my success as a student at NWCC."

    Valerie G.

  • "Mr. Perie is an awesome individual and an excellent teacher. He cares about people and is passionate about the work of funeral service. I was fortunate to have him as a teacher for restorative art. He has a wealth of knowledge and he shares how textbook knowledge applies in real world practice. He is a lifelong learner and consummate teacher. He definitely cares about the future of the profession. His investment and others is a testament to his passion and commitment to the advancement of funeral service."

    Lakeisha W.

  • "Mr. Perie was my Anatomy instructor at NWCC. I told myself that if I passed that course, I would continue with the funeral service program. Not only did I pass the class but I passed with an A. Mr. Perie made learning fun by sharing ways he learned about the human body and its functions and by sharing his stories of being an embalmer. I went on to graduate because I received a great foundation from Mr. Perie's class. His teachings helped me to be "effective and effcient" in the funeral industry."

    Yolanda A.

  • "Michael Perie has been an invaluable asset to the Funeral Service Program at NWCC for nearly 15 years, profoundly enriching the lives of our students. Through his dedicated preceptorship, engaging classroom instruction and active participation on our Advisory Committee, Michael's commitment has been unwavering. His passion has earned him the distinguished title of honorary alumnus."

Seminar Recap!

The “Anatomy of Anatomy” Continuing Education Seminar was a blast from start to finish. Northwest Mississippi Community College graciously hosted us, and the attendees were a great group to work with. Our catering team, Char Cooks, LLC., and photographer from TDP Productions did an amazing job. We look forward to the next in person seminar. Don’t miss it!
